Methodology
Reaper measures human life lost and gained using the metric of Human Life Value, or HLV. HLV expresses the total value of human life as measured in economic output. The higher someone’s economic output, the higher their HLV. For instance, a Fortune 500 CEO has a very high HLV, while a teacher or a fisherman has a much lower HLV.
To deliver maximum value for every investment, Repaer’s programs exclusively benefit those with a high HLV.
HLV is widely used by the insurance industry to measure the impact of lost lives. We use it to measure the impact on lifespan of conditions caused by our partners’ human footprint like cancer, respiratory illness, and cardiovascular disease. Read more about HLV.

The money you give us for a life offset will be used to add more years to the lives of HLV individuals, via strategies like saunas and plasma transfer. One full life offset is equivalent to 79.11 years, the average lifespan in the United States. In exchange for your life offset, you’ll receive a certificate representing your contribution and the satisfaction of knowing you’ve helped people live longer.
